'The Meeting House' at Asselstestraat 37A in Apeldoorn is a new initiative of the Reformed Congregation Apeldoorn. In the autumn of 2025, we will open our doors.
The Reformed Congregation in Apeldoorn was founded in 1937. In the early days, we gathered at Rustenburgstraat, but due to the growth of our congregation, we moved to Graaf van Lijndenlaan 9 in Apeldoorn. At this moment, our congregation has around 1200 engaged members. Every Sunday we have 2 church services: at 10:00 AM and at 4:00 PM. You can attend our services in person, but you can also watch via the livestream on YouTube.
About 15 years ago, we opened a Bible center in the community center 't Vogelnest, called 't Vogelzaad in Apeldoorn-Zuid. A wonderful place where many elderly and young people come together.
Starting in spring 2025, we are working on a new, additional initiative, this time near the city center: The Meeting House Apeldoorn at Asselsestraat 37A, close to the center.
To love God above all and our neighbor as ourselves. Our vision is based on the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39: "And Jesus said to him: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
We want to introduce people to the Bible and Christian charity.
How do we put our vision into practice? Through the community center, we want to be there for people who are seeking meaning and connection.
That is why we organize weekly core activities in which we engage with the Bible, such as Bible study groups, children's Bible club, and shared meals. We also have bridge activities focused on connection, such as clothing sales, coffee mornings/afternoons, or creative gatherings. In addition, we offer language support for those who would like to improve their Dutch language skills.
Rich and poor, young and old, everyone thinks about fundamental questions of life from time to time. Here are just a few examples.
Does God exist and how can I know that? What is the meaning of life according to the Christian faith? How does faith relate to science? Why is there suffering if there is a good God? Is there life after death? What does that mean for me? Is there one true religion or do all religions contain truth? What does faith say about climate responsibility? How can faith help with mental health and finding meaning? How do I convert?
For these and other questions, you are welcome in our meeting house at Asselsestraat 37A
